New Delhi: The University of Allahabad is all set to adopt the recently-introduced Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for admissions to its undergraduate programmes from this year.

The registration process for CUET UG 2022 has been reopened again for candidates who were unable to apply for the exam. Interested candidates can still apply till May 31, 2022. 

Candidates can also get their queries and doubts regarding the admission process by the Allahabad University (AU) authority.

Some of the compulsory subjects for AU admission are English or Hindi, which is mandatory for all students seeking admission at the varsity. Apart from this, a general test is also compulsory, which is applicable for students of all the courses/fields, including BA/BSc/BCom/BPA/BFA/BALLB.

Name of the Course  Domain subjects required for 
Bachelor of Performing Arts (BPA) For admission to BPA, candidates must have to compulsorily appear for ‘Performing Art- Music General’ in the domain section of CUET UG 2022. In addition, English or Hindi is compulsory in the language section along with the general test in section III.
Bachelor of Arts (BA) It is mandatory to appear in at least two domains from the domain list of eight for admission to BA course. These eight subjects are Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, History, Geography and Sanskrit. Apart from that, English or Hindi is compulsory in the language section (section II) along with general tests in section III.
Bachelor of Science (BSc) Biology Candidates seeking admissions into the Bachelor of Science (BSc) Biology will have to appear for English or Hindi in section I (language section). They should also appear for Biology and Chemistry in section II along with a general test in section III.
Bachelor of Science (BSc) Maths Candidates intending to pursue Bachelor of Science (BSc) Maths will have to appear in any two subjects out of these three subjects — Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science. In addition, English or Hindi in the language section and general tests in section III are compulsory.
Bachelor of Science (BSc) Home Science/Family & Community Science Appearing for Home Science subject in the section II (domain subjects) is mandatory for candidates seeking admission in Bachelor of Science (BSc) Home Science/Family & Community Science.
Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) For candidates interested in pursuing BCom, Accountancy/Book Keeping is a compulsory subject. In addition, English or Hindi is compulsory in the language section (section II), along with the general test in section III. 
BALLB (Hons) It is mandatory for candidates to appear for the exam of ‘Legal studies’ in the domain subject section, in addition to English or Hindi and general test from section I and III respectively.
Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Candidates seeking admissions into BFA will have to appear for Fine Arts/Visual Arts, which is compulsory, they should also appear for English or Hindi along with the general test from section I and III. 

About CUET UG 2022 

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the national-level exam, CUET 2022 through the online mode as a Computer Based Test (CBT). A candidate sits in front of a computer allotted to them against their roll number and admit card in a CBT exam. Once the exam starts, the candidate will be able to see questions on the computer screen, and they should use the computer mouse to answer the multiple-choice questions.

At present, the NTA has announced the exact date on which the CUET UG 2022 will be conducted. However, the UGC Chairman, M Jagadesh Kumar, had earlier announced that the CUET UG 2022 exam will be conducted in the second week of July. 

CUET 2022 Syllabus 

The UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar has assured that all the questions set by the NTA for CUET will be based on the syllabus from NCERT Class XII textbooks and that the students should not buy extra books or enroll for coaching to prepare for CUET. 

While the candidates will be awarded marks for every correct answer, there will also be negative marking for wrong answers. An incorrect answer will lead to a deduction of one mark. However, there's no negative marking for leaving a question unanswered. 

According to the CUET 2022 exam pattern, the question paper will consist of objective-type questions. Candidates can attempt the entrance test in 13 languages namely, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, English, Hindi, and Urdu
