Allahabad University Admission 2020: Varsity breaks previous records as application continued for 90 days

Allahabad Central University created records with the highest number of applications submitted in 2020 than at any time before.

During the last academic year, Allahabad University received around 1.13 Lakhs applications but this year has broken all the previous admission records by just a few marks.

With the last of applications observing extension for four times, admission procedure lasted for at least 90 days. Thereafter, all the previous records of applications have been subdued.

In fact, as per the earlier notifications, the admission application procedure for the session 2020-21 had commenced from March 25, 2020. Then due to the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, the students started opposing the admission applications.

Following which, the application procedure had been revised within two days. The same procedure had been rescheduled on May 10, 2020. Hence, the last date of application was scheduled until June 30, 2020.

Thereafter, due to the less number of applicants, the last date of application was revised and extended to July 15, 2020, and again postponed to July 30, 2020.

As a result, due to less number of applicants again in the month of July, it has been revised again and rescheduled now on August 20.2020. While the date for Joint Research Entrance Examination (CRATE) has been fixed on August 28, 2020.

However, on extending the deadline four times and repeating the same procedure, a total of around 2.17 Lakhs applications got registered online in a span of 90 days. Out of which, around 1.13 candidates have applied successfully for the admission to various courses.

According to Dr Shailendra Rai, Member of Admission Cell, following the numbers of applicants for admission to various courses till Friday, dated August 7, 2020, came about as 2015 for IPS, 7296 for BA LLB, 13058 for LLB, 337 in LLM, 766 in CRATE were submitted so far.
