New Delhi: All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Nagpur and Maharashtra Animal & Fishery Sciences University (MAFSU) Nagpur have signed an MoU to initiate collaborative research. This will facilitate the exchange of ideas, development of new knowledge and enhance high-quality research.
AIIMS Nagpur and MAFSU Nagpur have signed an memorandum of understanding (MoU) on August 8, 2022 at MIHAN campus of AIIMS Nagpur. This MoU will promote research in molecular biology, basic sciences & translational research using animals for experimentation, as reported by The Live Nagpur.
On behalf of MAFSU , the MoU was signed by Dr Nitin Kurkure, Director of Research, MAFSU, Nagpur, Dr AP Somkuwar, Dean, NVC, Nagpur & Dr J Y Waghaye, DDR, MAFSU, Nagpur. On behalf of AIIMS Nagpur, the signatories were Maj Gen (Dr) Vibha Dutta, SM, Director & CEO, AIIMS, Nagpur, Dr Mrunal Phatak, Dean (Academics), AIIMS, Nagpur & Dr Prathamesh Kamble, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Physiology, AIIMS Nagpur.
Last week, the medical institute conducted a stem cell donation awareness drive in collaboration with DKMS-BMST, a non-profit organisation. The goal was to spread awareness about life-saving volunteer stem cell donation and to motivate the attendees to register as potential stem cell donors. This will reduce the time gap between finding a suitable donor and bone marrow transplant for blood diseases patients in need.
