Victoria University's Museum and Heritage Studies Programme produces graduates with the knowledge, skills and critical and creative thinking which are demanded in today's cultural sector.
Students will acquire a broad grasp of this interdisciplinary field which combines history, theory, and practice with opportunities for independent research and workplace projects.
Develop your research and professional skills, and learn about a huge range of topics including museum history, theory and practice; the history, theory and contemporary practice of heritage, tourism and leisure.
The course has been developed with professionals from the sector, and is taught in partnership with national organisations like Te Papa Tongarewa and the Ministry for Culture and Heritage. Many of our graduates are now working within the industry in New Zealand and overseas?in everything from small local spaces and museums, to major national organisations.
