- Civil Engineers are responsible for the design and construction of infrastructures like buildings, transportation systems, water and wastewater facilities, ports, bridges and urban environments. This program will teach students discipline-specific knowledge that will enable them to solve problems and improve people’s standard of living.
- The MCivilEng degree will be offered in both research and taught options. The research pathway will incorporate either a 120-point or a 90-point thesis option. Students completing the research pathway or the taught pathway (with a 30-point research project) will be eligible for the award of Honours and may be able to progress to the PhD.
- The MCivilEng program is designed to cover the sub-disciplines of civil engineering available at the University of Auckland. It can either be awarded unendorsed or endorsed in one of the following specializations:
- Construction Engineering
- Environmental Engineering
- Geotechnical Engineering
- Structural Engineering

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must hold a 4 year Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a recognized university.
- A Grade Point Equivalent (GPE) of 4.0 is required.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Completed a bachelor’s (3 years) degree.
- Or, completed a bachelor’s degree requiring 4-years of study from a recognized university.
Submission of IELTS scores is compulsory for this program, however, students may submit a PTE score too instead of that.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.
