Asha International Institute of Marine Technology (AIIMT) was established in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, and is committed to transporting young citizens of India to join the Merchant Navy as GP Rating under the guidelines of the Directorate General of Shipping. So that the candidates can join as Rating in any foreign / Indian ships worldwide. It is functioning under a registered Educational Society Asha Educational Society and is approved by the Directorate General Of Shipping (DGS), Ministry of Shipping, Government of India vide their letter No. 3-TR (87)/2002-GP.

Asha International Institute of Marine Technology (AIIMT) Varanasi strictly follows IMO conventions and STCW Regulations in training seafarers. The Academy employs competent, trained, and qualified faculties to train seafarers. To achieve the above requirements, Asha International Institute of Marine Technology (AIIMT) has complied with the International Standard ISO 9001: 2008. Asha International Institute of Marine Technology (AIIMT) has been awarded an ISO 9001:2008 quality certificate and the institute is also graded B1 by IRS as per CIP.

Infrastructure: The institute is built on a 10-acre self-contained campus offering facilities for medical, library, swimming pool, banking, ATM, canteen, Xerox, and internet facilities.

Additional Facilities: The academic block has 10 spacious classrooms as well as a Computer lab, workshops (Hot Workshop, seamanship, engine, machine, carpentry, plumbing), and simulators for Steering, Radar, Arpa, Navigation, and GMDSS. The lab and workshops are well-equipped.

Practical Training: The curriculum places special emphasis on practical training and ship visits. The curriculum is designed to reinforce theoretical knowledge with real-world skills.

Hostel Facilities: Separate hostel facilities are provided for boys. Boys' hostels are completely isolated and have all the facilities required by D. G. Shipping.

Medical Care: All cadets are provided with medical care and examined periodically by the institute’s Resident Medical Officer. Resident Medical Officer visits hostels every day for minor ailments.

Asha International Institute of Marine Technology Admission Process

Admission Criteria

Eligibility Grating
Educational Qualification Pass with aggregate minimum 40% marks in
10th. Standard from a recognized board with
Science, Mathematics as subject and with
minimum 40% marks in English language.
Age Between 17.5 to 25 years. On the date
joining should not exceed 25 years.
Eye Sight (6/6 in each eye) without Spectacles
& colour Blindness.
Physical Applicant must possess Good Health as
per latest M.S. Rules. Valid Medical certificate for DGS approved Doctor is Mandatory before Joining

Selection Criteria 

The candidate, who fulfills the eligibility criteria, will be called for Entrance examination 45 days prior to the commencement date. Results will be declared within 7 Days and successful will be informed. The Admission will be confirmed sterility on the merit list on the basis entrance examination. The candidates who have been already selected will be required to deposit the documents and air fees. Academy will inform the reporting date of the intimation and medical examination. Add the commencement date the candidate should be able to pay the total course fees.
