Let me first offer a short summary of my opinion on TRP before I delve into the details. In my opinion, TRP is just a glorified institution run by a bunch of so called experts. In my case, they failed to deliver on any of the promises they made regarding how theyll be committed to my application (which were discussed beforehand in detail) and how they will do their best to help me achieve them (and of course Im was never expecting that if I got them on board my admission to a Stanford or LBS was confirmed ). All in all, I think for the prices they are charging, you can do a lot better for a far lower price. Now here goes my sort of detailed experiences with TRP. I took TRP on board as higher education consultants in 2022, before the onboarding process they had asked me to send my CV to them so that they can review it and set up a call with the appropriate person who will be my lead consultant. Seeing the exorbitant rates they charge, simply because of their apparent market reputation, I reluctantly decided to proceed with them and paid up for their 2 MBA school application package. Being from sort of a not so common educational and professional background, the MBA process was daunting for me. However despite the fees I proceeded with TRP because of the promises they gave me. The kind of constant handholding, guidance, encouragement and personalised attention I was promised by TRP (at the time of paying the fees) was definitely not given. In fact the reality was far from it, after paying up suddenly all the colleges that they earlier deemed were suitable keeping in mind my profile, experience and GMAT score suddenly became unachievable. They almost started behaving like none of that information was disclosed by me to them beforehand. As per them, my profile etc etc was not at all fit for any top 30/50 MBA programme . Apart from unfair, all of this also felt extremely discouraging. What as per them previously was an achievable school, suddenly became - what they or I guess people in the industry refer to as a Dream school. The consultant who was tasked with my case was in fact particularly clueless and didnt seem to really have the time or patience to deal with me or understand the difficulties I was facing with the process. Every time I asked him for his opinion, he simply answered whatever you feel is best lets do that. He had no idea how to present/shape a story for the essays and how to tailor my experiences, achievements and interests to best fit what the college is looking for. Now, in hindsight having more insight into the whole MBA college application process, the whole experience with TRP was genuinely laughable in terms of what they promised and what they ended up delivering. I was maybe naive enough to not even ask for their success rates for getting admissions as an organisation and especially the success rate of the consultant who was tasked with my case. Either ways, I was extremely disappointed with TRP almost to the point where I was close to giving up on the whole MBA process itself. Luckily, I didnt and tried again the year after in 2023 and finally ended up receiving interviews from 3 and offers from two top 10 MBA schools.
