Alliance Française of Madras

This is an indo french cultural place. Here they teach french and also provide translation services for the organisations. They have a french books Library as well.

Note: This is a review of the campus, not of the quality of education since I've not studied here. > I've visited this place multiple times through multiple years. A lot of events like film screenings, book launch/talks, film festivals, theatre programs happen here, apart from the french classes. > Most of their events are free and open to all. > They screen a french film every month. > The toilets are clean and well maintained. > The water dispenser on the first floor gives out only cold or hot water. This is regarding the TEFCANADA exam conducted by AF Madras. Completely pathetic conditions during exam. AF madras invigilators were talking loudly during the comprehension exam and the speaking test was conducted first so constant interruption of people entering the second exam room while others were writing. When raised the issue with the office, they completely absolved any responsibility and refused to refund the 24k or even provide another opportunity to write the exam.

Best place to learn French for beginners or any level. They have monthly slots for French courses. Also they are offering one to one course. The corporate training is also available on a batch basis.

I've recently visited AF Madras for the 70th Anniversary Event 'La Nuit Blanche'. One of the best event's I've attended so far. The place is good located in a pretty decent and posh neighborhood. Nungambakkam railway station is just 2Km from this place. It has a decent amount of parking space inside. The place was pretty crowded due to anniversary, but hope it's not that crowded on usual days. I liked the space, ambience, the infrastructure, arts museum and totally good vibes. Ambience and infrastructure is quite good. Hope the same neatness and maintenance will be carried out further ahead.
