Based on desired careers and academic performance, students can pursue studies in one of the following 6 specialisms.

• Fashion and Textile Design, in which students' creativity and design ability are nurtured,?their awareness of present and emerging technologies in the fashion and manufacturing environment?are developed, and?their understanding of marketing and business practices?are promoted.

• Fashion and Textile Marketing, in which the fundamental principles and practical knowledge?on both the technological and business aspects of the fashion industry are introduced. Students' ability?to define, analyse and solve problems that are related to fashion marketing and merchandising?are?nurtured, and their initiative and competence are developed in individual or team research projects and marketing programmes.

• Fashion Retailing,?in which up-to-date strategic and operational knowledge related to the fashion retailing business is introduced. Fashion buying, store management and the distribution of fashion products in the international arena?are emphasised. Students also acquire?managerial, analytical and problem-solving skills relevant to the retail business.

• Fashion?and?Textile?Technology,?in?which?students?are inculcated?with?knowledge of fashion?products, production?processes and their applications in the technical, economic, managerial and commercial contexts. This knowledge allows them to become industry leaders in product development, process innovation and production management in the textiles and apparel industry.

• Intimate Apparel,?in?which students can learn about the latest lingerie fashion design and technology in an active classroom. Expert seminars, practical workshops, live-model fitting, factory visits and summer internships?help students to?gain a better understanding of textiles, design, pattern, production and the business environment in real life.

• Knitwear Design?and Technology,?in which students are trained to become competent in the highly specialised design profession. The essence of the training delivered lies in the merging of technology?with design. Technology forms a solid foundation on which design skills are built. In this respect, yarn technology and knitting technology are two major areas that support and enrich the design curriculum. Design is the main stream in this specialism. The technological element of this?specialism distinguishes knitwear designers from fashion designers.
