The subject art and visual science is studied either with a focus on art history or with a focus on classical archeology. Events from the subjects of historical anthropology / European ethnology and philosophy complete the teaching program. The course teaches interdisciplinary core competencies in the systematic analysis of visual artifacts (pictures, objects, buildings, etc.) from a period from antiquity to the present. In addition to the structured knowledge of facts and methods from the subjects of art history and classical archeology, there are professional qualifications in the areas of media literacy, museum studies, art trade, and monument preservation, which are taught in a wide range of more practice-oriented modules.
