These lead to reliable knowledge in various areas of empirical research and enable forecasts to be made. Theory and practical application are closely interwoven. Finding essential information from large amounts of data is a central concern of statistics.
- This is done using a variety of sophisticated methods that go far beyond simply counting data. The tasks include the planning of experiments and studies, their evaluation and presentation as well as the interpretation of the results. Statisticians play an important role in the information society as "data detectives".

To apply for the Bachelor of Science program of LMU you must have completed a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification. To get admission in the BA Art and Multimedia program of Ludwig Maximilian University if you have to successfully participate in the aptitude test conducted by the university. You are also required to submit a portfolio with artistic works. Along with that you must be show an ELP certificate.
