The bachelor's degree in biology teaches the fundamentals of natural sciences in biology and the neighboring sciences of chemistry, physics, and mathematics.
The main focus is on the various sub-areas of biology cell biology and biochemistry, evolution, genetics, and molecular biology, physiology, morphology, systematics, microbiology, developmental biology, and ecology.
Especially within the compulsory elective area, students can specialize in biological subjects, and a free elective area also provides insights into what the entire University of Hamburg has to offer. The degree is concluded with the examination module and the bachelor thesis.
