The study of history aims at an object that is neither directly accessible nor completed. Rather, based on the experiences, problems and orientation needs of every present, it must always be constituted and developed anew. This requires a high degree of conceptual-methodical awareness (criticism); at the same time, it forces reflection and relativization of one's own point of view. Scientific work leads to an awareness of one's own place.
Tuition Fees
Goethe University Frankfurt does not demand a typical tuition fee. Students have to pay 410 USD per semester. This fee entitles students to services such as the unlimited use of public transportation in Frankfurt and the whole Federal State of Hessen.
