Tuition Fees
Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB) does not charge tuition fees. The students must only pay a semester contribution fee of about $401 per semester. This fee includes free use of public transport in North-Rhine Westphalia, and reduced prices for food and beverages in the cafeteria (Mensa) and canteens.
This course is unique because the social science specialist training from the bachelor's degree is purposefully and practically expanded to include professional teaching.
This course offers a specialization in the following areas:
- Political science
- sociology
- Economy
- Didactics of the mentioned areas
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- The study of social sciences in the Master of Education course follows successfully completed B.A. degree in "Politics / Economy / Society" at the Ruhr University or at equivalent degrees.
- For admission to the subject of social sciences, you have to go through a social sciences Bachelor's degree or a comparable degree, evidence of studies in the following areas:
- One basic module each from the disciplines of economics, sociology, political science as well as empirical methods and statistics,
- In addition, further studies to the extent of at least two modules covering the areas of “work”, “political system and economic policy” and "International structures and processes" concern.
- Admission is possible on the condition that corresponding studies at the latest by registration to the “Master's Module Subject Didactic Transformation selected subject-specific content ”or for the Master's thesis to be made up for. These post-studies must not exceed 13 CP.
Indian Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Most of the courses at the RUB are held in German. Students must therefore have sufficient knowledge of German and provide evidence by obtaining one of the following language certificates:
- TestDaF with at least 16 points within an examination
- DSH (level 2 or 3)
- German Language Diploma - DSD - II
- ZOP or Goethe Certificate C2 from the Goethe Institute
- KDS or GDS from the Goethe Institute
- ÖSD language diploma C1
- telc German C1 Hochschule
- Assessment test (examination part German)
