Admission Requirements for International Students

To apply for undergraduate and graduate programs at RWTH Aachen University, international students must submit the following documents prior to their admission:

International students need to prove their proficiency in English by submitting their TOEFL or IELTS score. Minimum required scores for admission are given below. However, certain specific departments may have different score requirements.

Visa Process for International Students

International students willing to study in any college inside Germany require a Schengen visa (for a short stay) or a National visa (for a longer stay). The following documents must be submitted by the applicant to the German Embassy while applying for a German visa:

• All Non EU students should submit the TestAS Certificate when applying for an Ug Course of Study

RWTH Aachen University Graduate Admissions

RWTH Aachen University offers master’s degree programs to the students in the disciplines of software systems, media informatics, electrical power engineering, communications engineering, biomedical engineering, and software system engineering. To get admission in a graduate course in, the following requirements must be fulfilled by the students:

RWTHonline Self Service allows the applicants to view the current status of the application. Here, applicants are also informed about missing documents. It is recommended to check the status of an application before the deadline for submitting additional documents (January 21 for the summer semester and August 26 for the winter semester) to ensure that no documents are missing and applicants can participate in the allocation process. The Registrar's Office will only inform the applicants that documents are missing through Self Service. It is the responsibility of the students to regularly check their application status.
