MSc in Chemistry at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences is a 2-year program.
It is an on-campus program offered on both a full-time and a part-time basis.
The program is taught in German and some lectures in English.
This degree program enables students to obtain an in-depth education with a variety of opportunities for specialization.
The program starts in the winter semester/summer semester.
The program builds on knowledge and skills obtained during the Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry.
It is also designed to fulfill the requirements for students to do independent research as part of a doctoral program or to use their technical and scientific skills to work in industry, business, administration, research, or teaching.
Students in the Master of Science degree program in Chemistry are required to choose three main subject areas from the following options:
- Inorganic Chemistry
- Biochemistry
- Macromolecular Chemistry
- Organic Chemistry
- Physical Chemistry
- Technical Chemistry
- Theoretical Chemistry.
The course options in each of the three subject areas are divided into a theoretical module and a practical module.

There is no tuition fee for international students. Students have to submit the semester fee which is around 280 EUR per semester.

Academic Eligibility:

Students must complete a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry or an equivalent degree.
Students with any other background including science are eligible to apply.

Language Requirement:

Students must pass the “Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang” (DSH-2) as evidence that student's spoken and written command of the German language is adequate for Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs for which the language of instruction is German.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

Completed a 4-year UG degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
Or, completed a 3-year UG degree from an accredited institution

Resume/CV - This provides a summary of a student's experience and skills.
Higher Secondary School Certificate - The certificate provided by the education board after completion of the Higher secondary education and list of grades and subjects in the original language, and a certified translation (certified copies).
School Leaving Certificate – School-leaving certificate in the original language and a certified translation (certified copies) is required.
Language Proof – Proof of students’ language skills (certified copy).
English Language Requirement - This shows the test score of English Proficiency Exams such as IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE, etc.
