The Osnabrück teaching and research focuses on a systematic approach to philosophy. The overall context of ideas and history is not neglected. Theoretical philosophy examines the possibilities and limits of human cognition and the general structures of human consciousness. Other focal areas include language philosophy, epistemology and metaphysics.
The practical philosophy, however, deals with the area of human action. The focus in Osnabrück is on normative ethics and applied ethics, such as B. Business ethics, but also in political philosophy or social philosophy.
