UPCET Eligibility Criteria 2022 is defined across different courses and categories for candidates seeking admission to various state universities and colleges in UP. - Before proceeding with UPCET Registration Process 2022, the candidates need to make sure they meet the eligibility criteria specified by the authorities. There is no age limit to apply for UPCET 2021.
- It must be noted that with effect from the academic year 2021-22, admission to B.Tech, B.Arch courses at colleges affiliated to AKTU, Lucknow, and other universities of Uttar Pradesh is based on JEE Main scores.
- Students applying for UPCET 2022 will be eligible for admission to BBA, B.Arch., BHMCT, BFAD, BFA, B. Voc, B. Pharm, B. Des., MCA, MBA (Integrated), M.Tech., M.Tech. (Integrated), M.Sc. and Lateral entry to B. Tech/B. Pharm offered at AKTU, MMMUT, and other state universities of Uttar Pradesh.

UPCET 2022: General Eligibility Criteria
Age
- Candidates up to any age can appear for UPCET 2022.
- Candidates who are due to appear for the qualifying examination or have appeared but results are awaited are eligible for admission
- Candidates whose results are not declared at the time of document verification shall not be considered for admissions.
Domicile
- The candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from any institute in UP or whose parents are domicile of the same state are eligible to appear for UPCET 2022.
- Candidates who have appeared for the qualifying examination outside of UP need to provide the domicile certificate of the parents at the time of verification.
Nationality
- Indian/NRI/FN/PIO candidates can apply for this exam.
- NRI candidates who possess minimum requisite qualifications may get direct admission on 5% seats of total intake in all courses except MBA and MCA.
- NRI candidates who wish to opt for B.Arch. need to appear in the aptitude test.
- The foreign nationals who passed the qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics which is considered equivalent to the (10+2) examination by the Association of Indian Universities will be eligible for admissions.

UPCET Eligibility 2022: AKTU
For admissions to 4 years Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma):
- Candidates need to pass (with/without grace) intermediate examination of the U.P. Board.
- Candidates need to have Physics and Chemistry along with Mathematics/ Biology as compulsory subjects.
- Candidates need to score at least 55% in the qualifying examination (5% relaxation for reserved categories.)
For admissions to 4 years Bachelor of Design (B.Des):
- Candidates need to pass (with/without grace) intermediate examination of the U.P. Board or its equivalent.
- Candidates need to score at least 45% in the qualifying examination (5% relaxation for reserved categories.)
For admissions to 4 year Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT):
- Candidates need to pass (with/without grace) intermediate examination of the U.P. Board or its equivalent.
- Candidates need to score at least 45% in the qualifying examination (5% relaxation for reserved categories.)
For admissions to 3 year Bachelor of Vocational courses (B.Voc):
- Candidates need to pass (with/without grace) intermediate examination of the U.P. Board or its equivalent.
- Candidates need to score at least 45% in the qualifying examination (5% relaxation for reserved categories.)
For admissions to 4 year Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA):
- Candidates need to pass (with/without grace) intermediate examination of the U.P. Board or its equivalent.
- Candidates need to score at least 45% in the qualifying examination (5% relaxation for reserved categories.)
For admissions to 4 year Bachelor of Fashion and Apparel Design (BFAD):

- Students need to pass BCA/ Bachelor in Computer Science Engineering or its equivalent degree from any recognized institute in India.
- Candidates need to secure passing marks in mathematics at the 12th or graduation level.
- Candidates need to score at least 50% in the qualifying examination (5% relaxation for reserved categories.)
For admissions to 5 year MBA (Integrated):
- Candidates need to possess a three-year bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from any recognized institute in India.
- Candidates need to score at least 45% in the qualifying examination (5% relaxation for reserved categories.)

For admissions to 3 year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA):
- Candidates need to pass 10+2 in any discipline.
- Candidates need to score at least 55% in the qualifying examination (5% relaxation for reserved categories.)
- Candidates need to have English as a compulsory subject in 10+2.
For admissions to 4 year Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma):
- Candidates need to pass 10+2 with at least 55% in the qualifying examination (5% relaxation for reserved categories.)
- Candidates need to have Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/ Biology as compulsory subjects.

- Students need to pass BCA/ Bachelor in Computer Science Engineering or its equivalent degree from any recognized institute in India.
- Candidates need to secure passing marks in mathematics at the 12th or graduation level.
- Candidates need to score at least 50% in the qualifying examination (5% relaxation for reserved categories.)
For admissions to 2 year Master of Business Administration (MBA)

UPCET 2022 Reservation Categories and Criteria
The Reservation of Seats is subject to change even up to the date of admission as stated by the government of Uttar Pradesh.
- 15% of the total seats are reserved for the Management quota and NRI candidates.
- *20% of the total seats are available for admissions to the candidates in the colleges affiliated to AKTU/ MMMUT who belong to the unreserved category.
- 85% of the total seats in all the courses for the private colleges will be reserved for UPCET 2022 qualified candidates.
- 100% of the total seats in all the courses of the first year for the Government/ Government Aided/ Government Self Financed Institutes will be reserved for UPCET 2022 qualified candidates.

- The candidates can avail of only one type of horizontal reservation except for female candidates. These candidates can obtain the benefits of any sub-category of the horizontal reservation including their own.
- The candidates need to fill the application form carefully. The authorities won’t entertain any requests for change in category or sub-category.
- Before filling the application form, the candidates must check the validity of their category certificates. The relevant documents need to be included in the application form. Otherwise, the candidate will be subjected to no reservation benefit.
- The Sons/Daughters of defense personnel of UP either retired/ killed/disabled in action or defense personnel posted in UP/ Defense personnel of UP and posted outside UP need to produce Certificate numbers 4,5, and 6 at the time of counseling.
Note: The candidates who wish to seek admissions in M.Tech courses won’t be subjected to the benefits under horizontal reservation.
Eligibility Criteria for NRIs
- NRIs who wish to opt for B.Arch need to appear for the Aptitude Test.
- NRI candidates who possess minimum requisite qualification may get direct admission on 5% seats of total intake in State-Funded and Private Institutions of Uttar Pradesh in all courses except MBA and MCA.
- NRIs need to pass the qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from an Institution situated outside India, which is considered equivalent to (10+2) examination by the Association of Indian Universities. OR
- Need to pass High School Certificate Education (GCE) examination with Physics, Chemistry and Higher Mathematics (A) from London / Cambridge / Sri Lanka.
- Need to appear in SAT II examination with Mathematics level II C, Physics and Chemistry.
