TS ICET 2023 Syllabus is released by Kakatiya University, Warangal on behalf of TSCHE. The questions are constructed in a way that evaluates a candidate’s quantitative, verbal/reading, and reasoning skills. There are three sections in TS ICET exam viz.
- Section A: Analytical Ability
- Section B: Mathematical Ability
- Section C: Communication Ability
This year, KU will conduct TS ICET 2023 tentatively in the last week of July 2023, in two sessions. The exam will be conducted online (computer-based) mode, candidates can now register at icet.tsche.ac.in. Check TSICET 2023 Application

TS ICET 2023 Syllabus: Analytical Ability
Analytical Ability consists of 75 questions of one mark each, giving the entire section a good weightage of 75 marks. The sections will have questions from two broad topics:
- Data Sufficiency - 20 questions, 20 marks
- Problem Solving - 55 questions, 55 marks
Candidates should cover the following chapters for covering both topics. These are the type of questions that TS ICET covers:
- Number System & Sequences and Series: Analogies of numbers and alphabet, completion of blank spaces following the pattern in a:b::c:d relationship; odd thing out: missing number in a sequence or a series.
- Data Analysis: The data are given in a Table, Bar diagram, Venn Diagram, Graph, Pie Chart, or Passage is to be analyzed and the questions relating to the data are to be answered. It primarily consists of decoding data.
- Alphabetical Coding and Decoding Problems: A code pattern of the English Alphabet is given. A given word or a group of letters is to be coded or decoded based on the given code or codes. It can be a letter assigned to a code or a code assigned to a given series of words.
- Date, Time, Travel & Arrangement Problems: Questions related to time and space will be asked including arrangement problems that involve permutations and combinations.

TS ICET 2023 Syllabus: Mathematical Ability
Mathematical Ability consists of 75 questions of one mark each, giving the entire section a good weightage of 75 marks. Same as Analytical Ability. However, this section is slightly more difficult than analytical ability as it tests the candidate’s basics and mathematical aptitude. It will have questions from the following three broad topics:
- Arithmetical Ability - 35 questions, 35 marks
- Algebraical & Geometrical Ability - 30 questions, 30 marks
- Statistical Ability - 10 questions, 10 marks
Candidates should cover the following chapters the three topics. These are the type of questions that TS ICET covers for testing Mathematical Aptitude:
- Arithmetical Ability will have questions from the following topics: Laws of indices, Ratio and proportion, Surds, Numbers and divisibility, l.c.m. and g.c.d, Rational numbers, Percentages, Profit and loss, Partnership, Pipes and cisterns, Time, distance and work problems, Areas and Volumes, Mensuration, Modular arithmetic.
- Algebraical and Geometrical Ability will have questions from the following topics: Tautologies-Sets, Relations and functions, applications – Equation of a line in different forms, Trigonometry. Progressions, Binomial Theorem, Matrices, Notion of a limit and derivative; Lines, Triangles, Quadrilaterals, Circles, Coordinate geometry.
- Statistical Ability will have questions from the following topics: Frequency distributions, Mean, Median, Mode, Standard Deviations, Correlation, Simple problems on Probability.

TS ICET 2023 Syllabus: Communication Ability
Communication Ability consists of 50 questions of one mark each, giving the entire section a decent weightage of 50 marks. It is lower than the other two sections but it is also harder to prepare and more time-consuming as it involves a good understanding of grammar and long passages.
- Since vocabulary and reading speed cannot be built in a day or even a month, candidates should start preparing for this section well in time.
- Reading of newspapers and opinion blogs will also help gain both speed and knowledge.
The section is divided as such:
- Vocabulary - 10 questions, 10 marks
- Business and Computer terminology - 10 questions, 10 marks
- Functional Grammar - 15 questions, 15 marks
- Reading Comprehension - 15 questions, 15 marks
Candidates should brush up on their grammar basics and make reading newspapers, blogs, novels, and relevant news items as well as scholarly essays a regular time-bound activity to judge their speed and accuracy. They must also make it a point to solve as many reading passages as possible, it will give them a sense of structure and also improve their reading and answering time.

Tips for TS ICET 2023 Preparation
Helpful points to remember while preparing for TS ICET 2023 entrance exam:
- Check your Starting Level: Before diving into course books and relevant material, solve last year's question paper to assess where you need to start your preparation.
- Set small goals: After having ascertained what sections need work, prepare a plan that divides topics to be covered and time to allot to each topic.
