JCECE 2023 Counselling: Check Important Dates, Seat Allotment, Process and Fees

JCECE Counselling 2023: JCECEB is expected to start JCECE Counselling 2023 after the declaration of the result i.e tentatively by August 2023. Following the completion of registration, it will release the round 1 JEE Main seat allotment result of JCECE 2023. Candidates can check the seat allotment list from the official website - jceceb.jharkhand.gov.in. The document verification and admission to the allotted college have to be done within the specified date

  • JCECE 2023 Counselling is conducted in two rounds. Candidates who did not get a seat in JCECE Seat Allotment for Round 1 will be eligible for Round 2 Counselling. In JCECE 2023 Counselling for Round 2, candidates can upgrade their choices. Check JCECE Participating Colleges 
  • The process of document verification and admission will be conducted at the allotted institutes. Candidates must ensure that they produce original documents/certificates at the time of JCECE 2023 Counselling.

JCECE Counselling Procedure

JCECE 2023 Counselling Procedure

Only candidates who have obtained positive scores will be considered in merit ranking. Candidates placed on the merit list are advised to read the counselling information carefully for appearing in the admission process. The process of counselling is described below:

JCECE Counselling: Round I

  • After the declaration of JCECE Results, qualifying candidates will be called for the first round of counselling based on merit ranking.
  • The round of counselling allows candidates to choose their preferred institute.
  • Following scrutiny of the required original certificates/ documents and fulfilment of the laid eligibility criteria, candidates are allocated seats.

JCECE Counselling: Round II

  • This round is held in case some seats remain vacant after the first round of counselling.
  • Candidates who will be already allocated seats in the first round of counselling can also participate in upgrading their allotted college.
  • To confirm admission, students are required to pay the seat acceptance fee of INR 1,000 drawn in favour of Controller of Examination, JCECEB, payable at Ranchi.

Steps in Round 1 and 2 JCECE Counselling

Choice Filling

  • Students will have to register online and complet ethe choice filling process
  • Select New Registration option will have to enter their application No. and date of Birth.

Counseling Fee Payment 

Pay the Counselling Fee as given below:

  • General/EWS, BC-I, and BC-II- Rs. 400/-
  • ST, SC, and Female Candidate of all Category- Rs. 250/-

Choice filling and locking

  • Choose the courses and institutes according to your preferences and fill them in the form.
  • Candidates will also have to lock the filled choices.
  • After choices are locked, they will not be changed.
  • Students can also take the print of the form filled by them.

Seat Allotment

  • Seat allotment is done based on the merit cum preferences filled by the candidates. 
  • Seat allotment result will be released online on the official website. 

Seat Acceptance

Candidates will have three options:

  • Option:- 1 Accept the Allotted Seat
    • Pay a non-refundable partial Admission Fee of Rs. 1,000/- online and accept the seat. 
    • Allotment letter will be issued and report to the allotted institute for verification of documents and admission with that letter.
    • Complete the doument verification and admission process. 
  • Option:- 2 Up-gradation of choice
    • Pay a partial non-refundable admission fee of Rs. 1,000/- and wait for the re-allotment of a seat on vacant seats due to the rejection of seats in first counseling.

JCECE Counselling Documents

JCECE 2023 Counselling: Documents Required

Candidates must present the following documents in original as well as a set of self-attested photocopies of the certificates in order to participate in JCECE counselling 2023:

  • Admit card, Mark sheet, Passing certificate (original/provisional) of Class 12.
  • Admit card, Mark sheet, Passing certificate (original/provisional) of Class 10.
  • Local Resident Certificate issued by SDO (Civil)/ DC of Jharkhand state.
  • Caste Certificate issued by SDO(Civil)/ DC of Jharkhand state.
  • 1 Passport size photograph (made from the same negative of photograph uploaded during JCECE Registration.
  • JCECE 2023 Admit Card
  • Disability Certificate issued by Medical Superintendent/CMO/Head of Hospital.

JCECE Seat Allotment

The seat allotment procedure for JCECE 2023 commences once the document verification process is completed. Only those candidates are eligible for allocation of seat who have successfully applied for the Counselling Process and have filled in the choices of college and branch.

Here are some key points to know about JCECE Seat Allotment:

  • JCECE Seat Matrix, seat allotment and the status of the participating candidate are displayed on the official website.
  • To participate in the seat allotment procedure, a candidate has to fill JCECE 2023 counselling registration form.
  • The criteria for seat allotment is merit-cum-choice. JCECE board considers both the score and the choice of college while allocating the seats.
  • The qualifying candidates are called for JCECE counselling process. Candidates have to attend the counselling on the scheduled date, time and place.
  • Only after verification of the essential documents, the candidates will be allotted seats.
  • The process of seat allotment is carried out until all the seats are filled.
  • Government specified Reservations are also applicable on the seat allotment.
  • In case, any candidate is dissatisfied with the seat that is allotted to him in the first round, then he can opt for seat up-gradation in the subsequent round. If the seat is not upgraded in the subsequent round then the first seat allotment will be considered as the final allotment.
  • After successful seat allotment, candidates must confirm their admissions by reporting to the allotted institute and completing the requisite admission formalities.
  • Candidates who will be allotted a seat during the JCECE 2023 Seat Allotment process will also be required to pay an allotment fee of INR 2000/- along with the admission fee at the time of reporting to the allotted institute.

JCECE 2023 Important Instructions

  1. School/College leaving certificate is not required at the time of JCECE Counselling. However, it will be required at the time of admission.
  2. In case a successful candidate appears as per merit ranking but forgets to produce the required set of documents and then appears for the next round then they can opt for admission in only available seat/branch/ institute.
  3. Before allotment of seats, original certificates and identity will be verified.
  4. Legal actions will be taken against the candidates found false/improper identity/duplicate certificates.
  5. The allotment of seats will be done on the basis of marks obtained in JCECE. There is no guarantee of admission of candidates included in the advertisement merit list for counselling.
  6. The vacant seats will be displayed daily on Board’s website during JCECE counselling.

JCECE 2023 Counselling FAQS

Ques: Who will be conducting JCECE 2023 Counselling? Can I take part in the admission process in offline mode?

Ans: Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (JCECE) offers admission into various institutions in the state of Jharkhand for the candidates who will qualify for the said exam. The Centralized Online Counselling is conducted, therefore, no candidate can participate in JCECE counselling in offline mode. 

Ques: How many seats will be offered during JCECE 2023 Counselling?

Ans: Around 400+ seats will be offered to students for admission in Professional Courses such as B.V.Sc & A.H, B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture, B.Sc (Hons) Forestry, B.Tech Dairy Technology, B.F.Sc, B.Tech Agriculture Engineering, & B.Sc (Hons) Horticulture.

Ques: How many rounds of JCECE 2023 Counselling will be conducted?

Ans: A total of 2 rounds are conducted in JCECE counselling, however, if the seats are left vacant after the completion of round 2 then the authority might conduct the 3rd or mop up round of counselling. 

Ques: What are the minimum marks required to participate in JCECE 2023 Counselling?

Ans: The authority will only the merit list based on which candidates will be invited to fill the choices of colleges and courses. JCECE Board publishes two merit lists- Combined Merit List and Category-Wise at its official website. These lists are used for the allocation of seats at the time of JCECE 2023 Counselling.

Ques: Can I use the reservation benefits during the time of JCECE 2023 Counselling?

Ans: The authority prepares two types of merit lists to select the candidates for the admission process one of which is the Category-Wise merit list. So if a candidate has mentioned the right category while applying for JCECE then they can take the benefit of same in the admission process. 

Ques: Is it mandatory to be the domicile of the state to participate in JCECE 2023 Counselling?

Ans: Yes, it is mandatory to be the domicile of Jharkhand and students will also have to produce the Domicile certificate issued by the sub-divisional officer of deputy commissioner to prove the same during the time of admission process.
