The eligibility conditions for the B.Ed program under the University of Delhi are different and determined on the basis of several factors. Among them, nationality is one of the major factors.
Candidates residing within India
The eligibility for this candidate across the country is determined on the basis of their total percentage of marks secured depending upon the category to which they belong. The candidates who belong to the general category are required to score 50% marks in their graduation or post-graduation level whereas the candidates who belong to OBC or widow or SC/ST and other categories (PwD) are given a relaxation of 5% and 10% respectively from any recognized university in any of the following subjects:

The B.Tech candidates need to score at least 55% marks with specialization in science and mathematics.
Foreign Candidates

- The candidates who wish to apply for the B.Ed courses must not be less than 21 years of age. There is no such relaxation for any reserved category such as SC/ST or OBC, etc.
- All the candidates who wish to apply for the Bachelor of Education whether holding a Bachelor or Master’s degree must not be less than 21 years and more than 28 years of age.
Note: For the candidates who wish to apply for the distant B.Ed course under the Delhi University must be aware that there is no such specific age bar mentioned for applying but they should complete a graduation degree or post-graduation degree from any recognized university.
DU B.Ed Entrance Exam 2023 Eligibility as per Academics/Education
The eligibility criteria are different for different candidates as per their academic qualification:
Eligibility criteria for General Graduates
- Bachelor's Degree or other equivalent degrees preferably from the Delhi University or another equivalent university with at least 50% marks in any two subjects out of 200 at their graduation level.
Eligibility criteria for Honors Graduates
- Candidates should have passed from any recognized university with 50% marks in total at their graduation.
- They are expected to do Honors Graduation in one subject with total marks of 400 out of which they must secure 50% marks.
Eligibility criteria for Post Graduates (Honors Graduates)
- The master's degree from of a recognized university in any of the subjects with at least 50% marks.
- If the aspirant decides to teach a different subject other than their master's subject, then the candidate should have studied that specific subject at the graduate level with 200 marks and obtained 50% marks.
- The candidates who are not Honors Graduates but qualify Master Degree from any of the recognized universities with 50% marks in each of the two teaching subjects not included in List I or List II.
- In the above case, the candidate should have studied with a minimum of two of the teaching subjects with a total of 200 marks at the graduate level.
DU B.Ed Entrance Exam 2023 Eligibility as per Program Opted
The candidate must have to select any one subject from each of the subject categories from the following table. The subject chosen by the candidate must be the one in which they should score at least 50% marks in Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree. This subject will thus be referred to as the teaching subject in the B.Ed course.

Note:
- The seats allocated for SC/ST aspirants shall be acquired by them only. If there is a case of non-availability of the candidates and the seats remain vacant then the seats may be interchanged between the SC and ST itself. In spite of the former situation if the seat remains vacant then it will be treated as vacant by the authority. The seats allocated for OBC aspirants shall be acquired by OBC only. If the OBC candidates fail to score the minimum eligibility marks then the OBC seats are converted to the General category seats in accordance with the admission schedule notified by the university.
- (1% each of the persons those are visually disabled, with hearing impairment conditions and cerebral palsy including dyslexia.) The seats are inter-changed in case of non-availability of the candidates.
- As per the regulations endorsed by the Academic Council the admission of the CwC category candidates have to be made in the following series of priorities: Widows of Defense employees killed in any activity; Children/Spouse of any Defense employee disabled in any activity; Widows/Children of any Defense employee disabled during the course of their service tenure in military service; Widows/Children of ex-servicemen persons and ex-employees including employees of police who are awarded with awards like Ashok Chakra, Param Vir Chakra, Maha Vir Chakra, etc.
