CMA course is divided into 3 exams which are Foundation Level, Intermediate Level and Final. The students are required to do Articleship after the CMA course which adds to the time required to become a Certified Management Accountant.

The duration of the CMA Foundation is 8 months. The duration of CMA Inter is 10 Months. The duration of the CMA Final is 18 Months. Thus the CMA Course can be completed in 3 years. Students will need to complete 3 years of articleship or on-the-job training to work as Certified Management Accountants. Students must complete 10 months of training before the CMA Final exam so it does not add much to the overall duration of the course.

CMA Foundation Duration 

The CMA Foundation is an entry-level exam for students wishing to take the CMA course. This course was developed by his ICAI Board Member. The CMA Foundation Exam is offered twice a year, in June and December. A minimum of 3-4 months of self-study is required to pass the CMA Foundation exam. The duration of the CMA foundation is at least 8 months.

CMA Inter Duration 

The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) publishes the CMA midterm exam pattern on its official website (icmai.in). According to the paper sample, the CMA midterms will be held in an offline, center-based mode. The total exam duration is 3 hours. Candidates taking the CMA Inter exam are required to take an exam sample in preparation for their final exam strategy to qualify for the CMA exam. A CMA Inter duration is a minimum of 10 months.

CMA Final Duration 

CMA Final Course is the final level of the CMA course. It is conducted by the Comprehensive Institute of Cost Management Accounting of India (ICMAI). The CMA degree syllabus consists of eight subjects divided into two groups. CMA Inter duration is of minimum 18 months. 

CMA Articleship Duration 

CMA students are eligible to begin practical training as soon as they enroll at the Intermediate level. The Institute requires a CMA student to complete three years of on-the-job training. However, the training is flexible and does not need to be taken continuously. Under the new hands-on training structure, a student must complete 10 months of training four months before CMA final exam is due and determine the results of the CMA final exam. 

CMA Course Duration after BCom 

CMA courses has 3 levels which include Foundation, Intermediate and Final. Candidates who have done BCom candidate get an exemption from all the papers at the foundation level and have the opportunity to directly appear for the Intermediate exam. Averagely, CMA Course Duration after BCom is 3–3.5 years.

Ans. There is no exemption given from the CMA Articleship. Each and every candidate has to complete a 3 years long CMA Articleship duration to get the CMA India certification.
