B. Tech. Horticulture: What is it About?
Horticulture is a branch of Agriculture that deals with the cultivation of plants, vegetables, flowers, fruits, etc. B.Tech. Horticulture course helps candidates to gain knowledge about the technology used in the process of horticulture.
The branch now has applications in food technology as well. It deals with production, harvesting and storing of vegetables. All these industries have now been mechanized in order to enhance the efficiency of process and production.

B.Tech. Horticulture: Admission Process
Admission to the course is based on university- level counseling which is based on the score obtained in the UPES Engineering Aptitude Test (UPESEAT).
The remaining 20% seats are decided on the basis of the score obtained in 10+2 or rank obtained in JEE-Main.
On the Basis of Board Merit: Minimum 80% aggregate marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (classes X & XII), and minimum 80% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at Senior Secondary level (class XII).
On the Basis of JEE Mains Merit: Minimum 60% marks in aggregate at Higher & Senior Secondary levels (classes X and XII) and minimum 60% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at Senior Secondary level (class XII).
B. Tech. Horticulture: Eligibility
Upon successful completion of 10+2 from a recognized educational Board with a minimum aggregate score of 80%, with Physics, Chemistry and Maths/ Biology/ Agriculture as the main subjects, one is eligible to apply for enrolment to the course.
Most Indian institutes teach horticulture as a subset of agriculture, while others offer a separate degree in horticulture. Successful graduates of the course interested in higher studies in the discipline may go for pursuing Ph.D. in the discipline.
