BSc Aviation is a 3-year undergraduate degree course in aviation. The full-time course of 3 years is divided into 6 semesters. BSc Aviation Subjects
The subjects in BSc Aviation are explained below:
- Air Navigation I - Students will learn about the shape of the earth, Airspeed indicator, different units of measurements like - Nautical Mile, Statute Mile, Kilometer, etc, Conversion of Units. It also includes Earth's magnetism for example Compass Directions, Variation, Deviation, Cardinal and Quadrantal points, Degrees, Minutes, and Seconds.
- Air Regulation I - Students will get in-depth knowledge about the General flying conditions(Rules – 21, 24, 24A, 24C) their definition and the Registration and marking of Aircraft Change in ownership.
- Meteorology I - It includes the atmosphere and its Composition, Extent, Vertical Division. It is important in aviation to be aware of the temperature and atmospheric pressure.
- Air Regulation II - Important topics include Air Traffic Services and Indian Aircraft Rules 1920. In Air traffic services like Control of Traffic in Circuit, Light & Ground Signals, Control of Traffic on Maneuvering Areas while flying.
- Meteorology II - While flying it's important to know properly about clouds, fog, mist, precipitation and haze. Knowledge of Flying conditions in each cloud Type will be given..
- Aircraft & Engines II - This includes the study of Flight instruments like Glass cockpit concept, EFIS, CRT, LCD displays, PFD, ND, MFD and Fire Protection Systems such as Classification of fire, fire generation logic, Detection of fire smoke etc
BSc Aviation Entrance Exam Syllabus
There is no entrance examination for admission to BSc Aviation course. However, some state and central universities offer this course by conducting their own state/central-level entrance exams. Most of the colleges also accept admission to the course directly on the basis of merit. They prepare a merit list on the basis of the 10+2 performance of the candidates.
The entrance exam required for BSc Aviation is CUET. The Common University Entrance Test or CUET 2023 is a national-level entrance test introduced for admission into all UG programs.

BSc Aviation Teaching Methodology and Technique
Aspiring students are taught about the functioning and working of all instruments of aircraft. It is not possible to teach everything with real aircraft which is why many institutes use many creative ways such as video demonstrations with animation or real-life footage of aircraft for better understanding for students. Some of the teaching methodologies used are Video Demonstration, Project Work, Computer Simulations, Co-curricular Activities, Animations, Field Visits.
Note: In Sixth Semester there is no flying. Flying is replaced by project work.
