The curriculum of the course is designed in a way to impart knowledge about various factors of textile designing and its related industry for example, color usage, textile terminology. The assessment scheme is based upon theory and practical papers.
There is separate weightage assigned to theory and practical papers.

Objective is to make students learn how the material of the cloth is related to design. This course will even let them learn the fiber quality specifications which they can apply in their future prospects while dealing with various designs. The material studies is a kind of subject which will also enhance their knowledge of production of textile and raw material related to it. |

Here implication is to make students familiar with grassroots history of the subject. The implied aspect here is to make students aware of the ancestral and ancient civilized design structures which are making a comeback.
