National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) is a public institute set up under the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India. The institute is located in Guwahati and was established in year 2008.
NIPER offers MS (Pharm), M.Pharm, M.Tech (Pharm) and MBA (Pharm) program and Ph.D program in Chemical Sciences, Biological Sciences and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Candidates applying to the MS (Pharm) program must pass in B.Pharm/ B.V.Sc. /MBBS/BAMS /MSc. degree in the relevant subject in order to be eligible.
- For M.Pharm, applicants must pass in B.Pharm degree in order to become eligible for admission.
- For MBA (Pharm) course, candidate must pass in B.Pharm or B.Tech (Chemical Engineering) or M.Sc. (Chemical/Life Sciences) courses to become eligible.
- Candidates applying to the Ph.D. program must possess MS (Pharm) / M.Pharm/ M.Tech/ M.Sc. degree in the relevant area of research.
- Candidates must score at least 60% to apply for the PG and Ph.D courses.
- Admission to all Master’s program is done on the basis of GPAT/ GATE/ NIPER JEE/ NET entrance examination.
- Ph.D applicants must appear for GPAT/GATE/NET scores (except M.D/M.V.Sc candidates) to participate in the NIPER counselling process.
- Candidates can also directly appear for the NIPER Joint Entrance Examination (NIPER JEE) and participate in the counselling process to gain admission to the courses.

NIPER Masters Admission 2023
NIPER offers MS (Pharm), M.Pharm, M.Tech (Pharm) and MBA (Pharm) courses in various disciplines altogether.
Candidates must pass in B.Pharm or other degree with minimum of 60% marks (CGPA of 6.75/10) from recognized university. Admission is done on the basis of GPAT/ NIPER JEE/ GATE/ NET entrance examination.

NIPER MBA Admission 2023
NIPER offers MBA (Pharm) degree program in Pharmaceutical Management conducted over two years. Eligible candidates must score at least 60% marks (6.75/10 CGPA) in B.Pharm/ B.Tech (Chemical Engineering)/ M.Sc. (Chemical/Life Sciences) degree.
Candidates must participate in the counselling process conducted by NIPER. Admission to the MBA program is offered on the basis of NIPER JEE/ GPAT/ GATE/ NET score and performance in GD and Interview, and evaluated on a ratio of 85:15.

NIPER Ph.D Admission 2023
NIPER offers Ph.D. program in three disciplines-Chemical Sciences, Biological Sciences and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Minimum eligibility for Ph.D. is passed in Master’s degree in relevant discipline from recognized university.
Candidates applying for these programs must produce scores obtained in GPAT/GATE/NET. Candidates with their own fellowships from CSIR/UGC NET/ICMR/ DBT/DST are also eligible to apply for a limited number of seats. Eligible candidates can also appear for the NIPER JEE for Ph.D. conducted by the institute. Candidates who clear the test have to appear for a personal interview at the institute. Merit is evaluated on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance exam and interview performance.

- Ph.D. - General/OBC/Kashmiri Migrant/Physically Handicapped candidates - INR 2000, while SC/ST candidates - INR 1000.

NIPER Scholarship
- A stipend of INR 12,400 per month is provided to all Master’s students (except MBA and sponsored candidates) subject to obtaining minimum 6.00 CGPA every semester.
- Ph.D students holding MS (Pharm), M.Pharm and M.Tech degrees will be given a stipend of INR 25000 per month for first the two years and INR 28000 per month from third year onwards.
- Students must maintain a CGPA of 6.50 per semester for continuation of the stipend.
