Kerala Law Academy Law College, the abbreviation of KLA was founded in 1967. The Kerala Law Academy Law College is the first private law college in Trivandrum, Kerala. The college is affiliated with the University of Kerala and accredited by the Bar Council of India.
The college offers UG level courses in the field of Legal Studies like BA.LLB, B.Com.LL.B and LLB. Along with undergraduate programmes, the college provides LLM and MBL courses at the postgraduate level.
The admission in the BA.LLB and B.Com.LL.B is made purely based on the merit of the candidates, whereas the admission in LLB programme are based on the percentage of marks secured in the qualifying degree examination and personal interview. Selection to LLM and MBL programmes is made on the basis of an interview and marks secured in the LL.B Examination.
The college offers relaxation of 5% marks which is activated for only the UG level candidates belonging to SC/ST category. 10% seats are reserved for interested undergraduate candidates belonging to the categories of SC & ST
Kerala Law Academy offers undergraduate programmes such as BA.LLB, B.Com.LLB and Bachelor of Law (LLB), focusing the area of law. The LLB programme is of three years, whereas integrated courses like B.A. LL.B and B.Com; LL.B take five years to fulfil its duration period.
Selection process of the applicants seeking admission in BA.LLB and B.Com.LL.B is strictly made on the basis of merit.

At postgraduate level, the college provides, LLM degree course, which shall extend to the period of 2 academic years consisting of 4 semesters, while the MBL (Master of Business Law) Degree Course shall extend to a period of 3 academic years consisting of 6 semesters. In order to seek admission in both of the master’s level courses, the candidates need have an three years or five years LLB degree from the University of Kerala or of any other University recognized by the Kerala University.
Admission to LLM and MBL programmes is made on the basis of an interview and marks secured in the LL.B Examination. The whole admission process is conducted by KLA.
