KC Law College, Jammu BA LLB and LLB Admission 2023

For BA LLB, candidates should have passed 10+2 from a recognized board with at least 45% marks. For LLB, candidates should have a graduation degree with at least 45% marks in aggregate to be eligible.

Admission in both courses will be done on the basis of marks secured in the qualifying examination and performance in JUET. In the final merit, entrance exam performance is given 25% preference and qualifying exam performance is given 75% preference.

Among all the eligible candidates, preference in admission is given to those who are higher in order of admission mentioned below. Preference will be given to a candidate who:

  • Has passed qualifying exam from J&K board.
  • is a permanent resident of the territorial jurisdiction of the University of Jammu.
  • is an employee or son/ daughter/spouse of such an employee of the Central or the State Government or a Public Undertaking posted within the territorial jurisdiction of the University of Jammu.
  • is not a permanent resident of J&K, but has passed the qualifying examination (10+2) with not less than 60% marks from a board other than the J&K State Board of School Education.
Course Minimum Eligibility Selection Criteria
LLB Graduation in any discipline from a recognized institute with at least 45% aggregate marks. On the basis of the qualifying exam and JUET marks
BA LLB Passed 10+2 level examination from a recognized board with at least 45% of aggregate marks.

Key Points:

  • For BA LLB course, candidates applying should be less than 21 years of age (General category/ open seats) and 22 years of age in case of SC/ ST/ OBC candidates.
  • In eligibility criteria, 5% relaxation is given to SC/ST/ category students.
  • JUET will be two sets of question papers, one for the BA – LLB course and other for the 3-year LLB course candidates.
  • JUET consists of 150 objective type questions of one mark each and the duration of the entrance test shall be 2 hours and 30 minutes.
  • Candidates securing less than 30% marks for general category and 25% for SC/ST category shall not be eligible for admission.

KC Law College, Jammu Application Process 2023

The candidates are required to apply for admission on the prescribed application form, along with attested photocopies of the relevant certificates/documents. Following are the steps to apply:

  • Visit the official website of the college
  • Download the application form from the college website.
  • Fill the application form correctly.
  • Make a Demand Draft of INR 500 payable to the Chairman, K.C Educational Society at Jammu.
  • The duly filled application form should be sent to the Principal, by registered post or delivered personally.

The application form must be accompanied by two attested photocopies of the following documents:

  • Mark sheet and passing certificates of HSC and SSC.
  • Graduation degree and Mark sheets of each semester (if applying for LLB course).
  • Reserve category certificate(s) (if applicable).
  • If the candidate has passed HSC as a private candidate, a Provisional certificate from the Institution from where Higher Secondary Part Two Examination (10+2) has been passed is required.
  • Transfer Certificate.
  •  Character Certificate.
  • Migration certificate if 10+2 examination passed from a recognized Board other than the J&K State Board of School Education.
  • Affidavit stating genuineness of the category certificate ( If applicable).
  • Two recent passport size photographs of the candidate.

Note: Also, the following documents in original along with one photocopy must be attached with the application form.

KC Law College, Jammu Reservation Criteria

As 67% of total seats in each course are open merit seats, reservation criteria laid down by University of Jammu is applicable on the remaining 33% seats. These seats shall be filled up from the eligible candidates belonging to reserved categories. Reservation for various categories is shown below:
