Himachal Institute of Dental Sciences offers admission to BDS and MDS on the basis of NEET UG and NEET MDS, respectively. Admissions to both BDS and MDS at HIDS Paonta are done through the Centralized Himachal Pradesh State Counselling conducted by Atal Medical and Research University on behalf of the Department of Medical Education & Research (DMER), Government of Himachal Pradesh. For admission to Diploma courses, admission is based on merit in the 10+2 level of examination.
