About Budge Budge College
Established in 1971, Budge Budge College is one of the oldest and premier colleges under the university of calcutta. Situated in the small and quaint towns of Budge Budge in West Bengal, the college has established a distinct aura and significance for itself over the years.
Budge Budge College offers courses at Undergraduate level only. The courses are BA, BA (Hons.), B.Com, B.Com (Hons.), B.Sc., and B.Sc. (Hons.). All the admissions are merit-based only. No entrance exam is required for the admission.

Budge Budge College Admissions
- Admission to seats reserved for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates will be made on the basis of merit as per Govt. and CU Rules.
- No Candidate with compartments in 10+2, in any subject is eligible to apply for Honors Degree courses.
How to Apply?
- Visit the official website and click on “Online Admission” under the admissions tab.
- Register by creating a login id and password.
- Successful registration would generate a Registration number and security PIN.
- Using the Registration number and security PIN, the candidates can login into the admission portal.
- Fill the online application form carefully by selecting the course of your choice.
- A candidate can select up to 3 Honors subjects for admission.
- Click the ‘Continue’ button to change/ modify the filled data, followed by the generation of a Bank Challan to make cash payment in any nearby branch of Canara Bank.
- Payment must be made in the stipulated time period to successfully submit your application.
Documents Required:
- Original 10th and 12th marksheets along with one self attested photocopy of each.
- Passing certificates
- Caste certificate(if required/applicable)
- Print out of the online submitted application form
- Online paid receipt of the bank challan(stamped)
- Stamped size photograph

Budge Budge College Scholarships
To support the minority and lower income groups and to be in line with the norms laid down by the central and state government; the college offers scholarships for the minority students.
The Central Government provides scholarship to students securing more than 50 percent whereas the state government provides a minority stipend to the students scoring below 50 percent. In budge budge college, the scheme has been in force since 2014.

Budge Budge College Facilities
- Classrooms and laboratories: The college consists of a total of 18 classrooms and 8 laboratories. The laboratories and classrooms are equipped with interactive smart boards, LCD projectors and desktop facility coupled with all time internet access.
The college also has some special scientific laboratories for extensive research such as -
- Biosciences Instrumentation Research Laboratory
- Commerce Computer Laboratory
- Geographic Information System Laboratory
The college also has a computer centre with 10 workstations to impart basic computer skills to the students.
Additionally, there is an eighty seater convention centre/seminar hall to conduct seminars and workshops. It is a centrally air - conditioned hall with a smart board and LCD projector to have an enriching learning experience.
- Library: The library of budge budge college is it’s most notable feature. The library houses an enormous collection of 22,000 plus texts and reference books spanning across a variety of disciplines.
Additionally, the library has an impressive collection of journals, magazines, career-counseling periodicals , CDs/DVDs, newspapers in English and Bengali for reference and research purposes.
The library also uses Linux based software to provide a computerized access to the faculty and students. A database of 18,000 volumes has been made available to be accessible by the students.
The college is also a registered member of University Grants Commission’s National online project “Information Library Network” or “INFLIBNET”.
Some of the unique features of the library include the library orientation session at the beginning of each academic year and the facility of seminar library for each department.
- Common room: The college has the facility of a separate common room for both boys and girls. This gives them the chance to refresh themselves amidst their hectic schedules, mingle with each other and bond with the fellow students.
- Sick room: The college also provides the facility of a sick room equipped with comfortable bedding and a well stocked first aid kit with all the essential medical supplies. It is done to provide immediate medical assistance to the faculty, staff and students in the case of ill health and medical emergencies.
- Canteen: The college also houses a small canteen to serve refreshments and snacks to the students and faculty at a minimal cost. The canteen serves a variety of food items, keeping in mind the quality and hygiene of the food.
- Gym: The college also has an in campus gym facility with all the major equipment in order to help the students stay fit.
