NIFT Patna Admission 2024: Dates, Cutoff, Fees, Eligibility, Selection Criteria, Application Process

The Institute offers full time 4 years undergraduate programs in B.Des. Refer to the table containing information regarding the same.

Specializations

NIFT Patna offers B.Des. courses under 4 specializations with an intake of 44 students in each. The table below shows the specializations and intake.

These 44 seats in each of specializations are distributed as follows:

NIFT Patna B.Des. Eligibility 

• Maximum age should be 23 years (28 years for SC/ST/PWD) as on 1st October.
• Candidates must have passed 10+2 examination from a recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination 

OR 

• They must have a pass grade in SSC examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.

OR

• Candidates must have a 3 or 4-years Diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.

OR

• Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by AIU as equivalent to 10+2.

OR

• Candidates with General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/ Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/ International Baccalaureate (IB) are also eligible.

NIFT Patna B.Des. Selection Criteria

• Candidates need to appear for the written tests consisting of Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT) conducted by the Institute.
• The shortlisted candidates will have to appear for a Situation Test.
• Admission is done through counselling based on the performance in CAT/ GAT and Situation Test scores.
• The weightage given to different test for selection are mentioned below:

NOTE - Candidates belonging to Foreign Nationals / SAARC / NRI category are granted admission on the basis of SAT score

NIFT Patna also offers B.F.Tech. course with an intake of 44 students. The data related to the course is encapsulated in the table given below:

NIFT Patna offers B.F.Tech course under 1 specialization only i.e. Apparel Production.

The 44 seats are distributed among various categories as shown below:

NIFT Patna B.F.Tech. Eligibility

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 examinations from a recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.

OR 

• They must have a pass grade in SSC examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

OR

• Candidates must have a 3 or 4-years Diploma in any branch of Engineering.

OR

• Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by AIU as equivalent to 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

OR

• Candidates with General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/ Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/ International Baccalaureate (IB) are also eligible.

NIFT Patna B.F.Tech. Selection Criteria

• Selection is based on the written test comprising of General Ability Test (GAT), conducted by the Institute.
• Those who qualify this test are granted admission in B.F.Tech.
• 100% weightage is given to GAT test for selection.

NOTE - Candidates belonging to Foreign Nationals / SAARC / NRI category are offered admission on the basis of SAT scores.

NIFT Patna offers MFM course at PG level for a duration of 2-years. Candidates can check the details of the same below:

NIFT Patna MFM Eligibility 

The eligibility criteria for MFM course is mentioned below:

• Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any recognized Institute / University.

OR

• Candidates who have a Undergraduate Diploma of minimum 3 duration from NIFT / NID are also eligible.

NIFT Patna MFM Selection Criteria

• NIFT Patna offers admission in MFM based on the written exam i.e general Ability Test (GAT) 
• Those who qualify in the written exam are called for Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI).
• The final selections depends upon the performance in above rounds.
• Candidates belonging to Foreign Nationals / SAARC / NRI category are selected on the basis of GMAT scores.

NIFT Patna offers CE Programme under 1 specialization only i.e. Fashion & Clothing Technology.

Eligibility 

Candidates must have passed 10+2 examinations from a recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination.

NIFT Patna Continuing Education Programme Selection Criteria

• Candidates will have to appear for an Interview at the NIFT Campus opted by them.
• Candidates will be selected on the basis of performance in the Interview.
