Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy started in 1987 falls under the Ministry of Environment and Forests. It is situated in the New Forest Campus of Forest Research Institute, Dehradun and operates as a college for Indian Forest Service IFS officers.
The academy has an 1100 acres campus surrounded by river Tons and Chakrata road.
IGNFA offers a post-graduate M.Phil. Degree in Environmental Technology. Apart from that, the academy also organizes several training programs like Skill Upgradation Programme for State Forest Service, Mid-Career Training Programme for IFS officers, etc.

- Post-graduation in a relevant field with at least 60% aggregate or equivalent CGPA from any University incorporated by the state or the central legislature of India.
- A relaxation in aggregate is provided up to 5% for SC/ST candidates.
