INST Mohali Admission 2023: Dates, Eligibility, Selection Criteria, Application Process

INST Mohali offers the Ph.D. program in 3 specializations namely, Chemical Biology Energy & Environment Quantum Materials & Devices. Selected candidates are enrolled as Ph.D. fellows of IISER, Mohali. The Ph.D. degree is also awarded to students after completion of the course by IISER, Mohali.

INST Mohali Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria

• Aspirants must have M.Sc. or M. Pharm. or M. Tech. degree in general/ Applied Sciences/ Engineering or related areas. 
• Final year students can also apply, provided that the degree must be granted by the time of joining.
• Must qualify at least one national-level examination out of GATE/ CSIR/ UGC-NET/ JEST/ JGEEBILS (TIFR/NCBS)/ ICMR-JRF/ DBT-JRF/ DST-INSPIRE/ GPAT.
• Candidates registered with IISER, Mohali for the BS-MS program can apply.

INST Mohali Ph.D. Selection Criteria

• Eligible candidates are shortlisted for the interview round on the basis of various national-level entrance exams.
• The list of eligible candidates is uploaded on the official website of INST Mohali or you can visit the given link.
• The date and mode of interview details are informed to respective students via mail.
• The interview is conducted via google meet and the link of interview access is mailed prior interview time.
• In case, Interview is conducted offline, shortlisted candidates will be paid for round trip expenses of sleeper class rail fare or non-AC bus fare from residence place to INST.
• After the interview, the final selection list is uploaded to the official website.

How to Apply?

Admission Portal: Aspiring candidates need to submit an application form in the provided format available at: https://inst.ac.in/careers.

Procedure: Along with it, one must submit an online synopsis as per the link given in the latest advertisement.

• Next, candidates need to send a hard copy of the application (affixing a recent passport size photograph) to

INST Mohali offers a Research Internship Programme for a duration of 1 year, a Summer Internship (May-June), and a Short term internship for 3-6 months. For the selection of the candidates, the institute gives more preference to candidates having a fellowship awarded from KVPY, BIRAC, IASc-INSA-NASI Summer Research Programme as well as Inspire Programme (DST).

INST Mohali Research Internship Program Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates who are registered full-time for M.Sc./ M.Tech./ M. Pharm. Degrees in Basic Sciences/ Applied Sciences/ Engineering Institutes/ Universities are eligible. 
• In the case of B.Sc/ B.Tech./ B.Pharm degree, few exceptional and bright candidates are considered for the internship program.

INST Mohali Research Internship Program Selection Criteria

• Eligible candidates may be selected for an interview in case the supervisor at INST agrees to provide facilities and training for the internship.
• Submitted applications are scrutinized by INST and selected candidates are informed via mail.
• The selection mail is communicated approximately within a month after the application deadline.

Note: No internship fee is charged, however, no hostel facility, TA is offered to the selected students.
