The Gemological Institute of America was established in 1931 in Carlsbad, California for training & research in the field of gemology. It operates in a total of 13 countries with 11 campuses, 4 research centers, & 9 laboratories, across the world. In India, there are two campuses of this institute at Surat & Mumbai. GIA Surat, offers Gemmology programs, Professional Development & Lab classes. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have passed 10+2 or equivalent to be eligible for admission.

GIA Surat Gujrat Admission 2024

GIA Surat Placement
Placement Camps are organized by the Institute for the jewellery & gem industry. Thus the students get opportunities to participate in recruiting sessions with reputed companies in India.
When a student attends the placement Camp, he/she gets the chance of exploring everything that the jewellery industry has to offer. This helps students to find many jobs as diamond graders, gemologists, jewellery designers, sales and marketing professional in the most prominent companies
GIA Surat Scholarships
The institute offers scholarships for, Lab classes, E-learning, on-campus programs to the students at the campuses worldwide. It urges the students to apply to courses, no matter what his/her financial condition and whether the students are taking lab classes or one course or diploma

GIA Surat Facilities
Student workroom: The student workroom is available for getting access to all the equipment and gemstone. It is essential to complete all the practical requirements of the gem identification course. There is also availability for self-study room for the students who are preparing for the final exam.
Laboratory: The laboratory of GIA is located at Mumbai which delivers top-class diamond services to cater to the requirements of various manufacturers
Gemological Library: It is located at Carlsbad. The library has 57,000 books, 1,800 videos, 150,000 photographs, & 700 periodicals. Library materials are accessible to people for on-campus research. It remains open from 7.30 A.M. to 5.00 P.M.

Ans. You have to send filled up and signed application form with required documents and need to pay via post or courier to the office address at GIA in India.

Ans. You need to have valid identity proof such as passport, driving license, PAN card or Aadhaar card, proof of education, one color passport size photo, and canceled cheque or bank account.
Ques. What are the additional requirements for international students?
Ans. An international student must apply for a student visa and then register with the local Foreigner Regional Registration Office (FRRO).
