Aspirants seeking admission to 3 year Full-time B.Ed program must be pass in B.Sc., or M.Sc., Botany or Zoology and other allied science Subjects.
The medium of Instruction:
The candidates admitted into the B.Ed. course select the medium of instruction either as English or as Tamil. After the last date of admission, the name list along with the medium of instruction chosen by each candidate is submitted to Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University. In case, if the admitted candidates prefer to change their medium of instruction at a later stage of the course it is permitted only after obtaining necessary written permission from the Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, prior to the publication of Nominal Roll. The medium of instruction chosen by the candidate to pursue the B.Ed. the degree course is indicated in the B.Ed. course transfer certificate alone. Reappearance for Practical components Each unsuccessful candidate is permitted to reappear for the practicum components examination within the next three consecutive academic years.
Classification of successful candidates:
A candidate shall be awarded the B.Ed., degree if she has passed both the theory component and the practical components. Successful candidates shall be classified as specified hereunder by taking into account of their total marks secured both in Theory and Practical Examination separately.
Duration of the B.Ed. Programme:
The B.Ed. the programme shall be for the duration of two academic years consisting of 200 working days (36 hours in a week - 5 or 6 days in a week) each year, excluding the period of examination and admission. B.Ed. is a professional course that prepares teachers for upper primary or middle level (classes VI-VIII), secondary level (classes IX-X) and senior secondary level (classes XI-XII).
