Under the UG Domain, IISER Bhopal offers BS and BS-MS (Dual Degree) programs and under the PG domain, it offers PhD and Integrated PhD research programs. The admission process is managed by the Joint Admissions Committee (JAC), headed by a Chairman and having members from all IISERs.
Admission to BS and BS-MS (Dual Degree) programs is done on the basis of Common Rank List (CRL) of Joint Entrance Exam (Advanced), Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) fellowship or score obtained in State and Central Boards
Candidates applying through the SCB channel are required to appear in IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) followed by an interview to secure admission in BS-MS (dual degree) program.
Admission to Integrated Ph.D. is done on the basis of a valid score in JEST (for Physics) and JAM (Mathematics and Chemistry). The selection procedure for admission to the Ph.D. program will be based on the performance of the candidate in the interviews.

IISER Bhopal BS & BS-MS (Dual Degree) Admission 2023
IISER offers a BS program in 2 broad streams i.e. Engineering Sciences disciplines And Humanities and Social Science discipline (Economic Sciences).
In the engineering Sciences discipline, after completing a common curriculum in the first two years, students can choose from one amongst the three major disciplines currently being offered: Chemical Engineering, Data Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Science.

- For BS-MS, candidates must have passed (10+2) in science stream
Selection Criteria
The admission to IISER BS and BS-MS is done through different channels-
Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY): Candidates having a valid KVPY fellowship are eligible to apply for admissions.
Joint Entrance Exam (Advanced): Candidates in the General category securing a rank within 10000 in the Common Rank List (CRL) of JEE Advanced are eligible to apply. For candidates belonging to the reserved category (OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PD), their category rank would be used. Additional cut off criteria may be applicable.
State and Central Boards: Students who have passed (10+2) level with science stream during the current or previous year with marks equal or above the cut off percentage in their respective boards are eligible to apply.
Students applying through the SCB channel will have to appear in IISER Aptitude Test which will be conducted at various centers across the country.

IISER offers Integrated Ph.D. in 3 specializations in full-time mode. The Institute offers an Integrated Ph.D. program in Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics. Integrated Ph.D. program consists of course work followed by qualifying/comprehensive examination, research work, seminars, and a thesis.
Integrated Ph.D. students from all disciplines will have to register for a minimum of 48-course credits and a minimum of 40 research credits. In order to graduate, they should have a total minimum of 128 credits.

Eligibility Criteria
- Candidate must have completed a graduate program (B.Sc./B.Tech. /B.E.) in a discipline relevant to his/her choice of Integrated Ph.D. program

- The Department of Chemistry is not offering admissions into the Integrated Ph.D. program this semester.

Ph.D. program consists of course work, qualifying/comprehensive examination, seminars, and a thesis. Ph.D. students will have to register for course work comprising a minimum of 16 to 24 credits and a minimum of 40 research credits. In order to graduate, they should have a total minimum of 96 credits (coursework and research work).
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidate should have completed a postgraduate program (M.S./M.Sc./M.Tech. /MBBS) in a discipline relevant to the choice of the Ph.D. program.
- Candidate should be preferably not more than 28 years. Age relaxation of 3 years will be given for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST/PD/Female applicants.
Selection Criteria
- Candidates are selected on the basis of score obtained in GATE and/or have qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET)/Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-Junior Research Fellowship (CSIR-JRF), University Grants Commission-Junior Research Fellowship (UGC-JRF) or other equivalent examinations.
- A relaxation of 5% of marks, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, will be allowed for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PD categories.

IISER Bhopal Scholarship
- KVPY candidates admitted to IISER will draw fellowship as per KVPY norms.
- A limited number of INSPIRE scholarship will be available to who are admitted through JEE Advanced and SCB channel as per the norms of DST INSPIRE.
- All admitted students in Integrated Ph.D. will receive a fellowship of INR 10,000 per month till the end of the third year (subject to fulfilling the minimum CPI requirements).
- All the selected candidates of Ph.D. will be eligible to receive the JRF Fellowship as per the funding agency norms.
