Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP) offers a Ph.D. program or Post M.Sc in two specializations i.e. Physics and Biophysical Sciences. The admission in this course is entirely based on the merit in qualifying and the entrance examination.
Candidates seeking admission in Post M.Sc Physics must hold an M.Sc degree in Physics and appear for JEST or GATE in Physics or CSIR/UGC NET for JRF.
The minimum eligibility for admission in Post M.Sc in Biophysical Sciences is an M.Sc degree in Physics/Chemistry or Life Sciences and appear for JGEEBILS or GATE in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Physics and Chemistry examination.
JEST is a Joint Entrance Screening Test for Ph.D. programs in Physics, Theoretical Computer Science and Neuroscience. JEST application form can be filled online. The minimum eligibility to apply for this examination is an M.Sc degree in a relevant field.
National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted by CBSE to determine the eligibility of India nationals for JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) or Assistant Professor. Based on the rank obtained in NET, the candidates will be awarded the JRF under various schemes in universities and colleges all over India.
