Every year, students are admitted to the state reserved seats through a counselling process conducted by The Directorate of Medical Education, Tamil Nadu, and to the All India seats through a counselling process conducted by Directorate General of Health Services, on behalf of MCC.

- Candidates must have secured at least 50% aggregate percentage in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotech. & must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotech. & English individually. Candidates who have passed 10+2 level with Biology as an additional subject will also be eligible.
- Candidate passed B.Sc. from Indian University with not less than 2 of the subjects Physica, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology)/Biotech. & further passed the earlier qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English can also apply.
- Result awaited candidates can also apply on provisional basis.
- The lower age limit is 17 years on or before 31st December.
