What are the specializations provided under the postgraduate degree?

SPAV provides the following specializations under its postgraduate program. They are Sustainable Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Architectural Conservation, Building Engineering and Management, Environmental Planning and Management, and Urban and Regional Planning.

Are there hostel facilities in the institution?

Yes.SPAV provides separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. While the former has a capacity of around 400, the latter can accommodate about 200 students.

What is the duration of the undergraduate programs?

The undergraduate program under Architecture is a course of 5 years and has 10 semesters. The Bachelor of Planning program is a course of 4 years with 8 semesters.

What is the eligibility criterion for the Ph.D. programs?

In order to be eligible for the Ph.D. programs in SPAV, the candidate must pass the M Arch/ M Tech examinations with a CGPA of at least 6.5 or 60% in aggregate, for Open/ OBC candidates. The score obtained should be at least 6.0 CGPA or 55% in aggregate for SC/ ST students. In addition, the selection criteria include the score and subsequent rank obtained in GATE/ CSIR NET/ UGC NET/ ICMR/ JRF, written test, and viva voce.

Are there any scholarship facilities?

SPAV does not have its own scholarship facilities. However, students are eligible for the scholarship programs organized by the state and central governments.

Eligibility Criteria

Aspirant seeking admission in 3-year full-time Ph.D. program should have completed a Master’s Degree in any of the courses conducted by the School or its equivalent conducted by any other recognized University/Institution.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must have Master degree in Planning/Architecture with a CGPA of 6.5 or 60% marks in case of General/OBC/EWS, whereas in case of SC/ST/PH candidates a CGPA of 6.0 or 55% marks in the qualifying degree.

Selection Criteria

Candidates need to appear in a written test.
Those clearing the written test have to appear for viva-voce with respect to the area of research interest with a brief PowerPoint Presentation.
Candidates possessing valid GATE/JRF/CEED score, any other institutional scholarship / sponsorship including ICCR and self financed (OCI & PIO) foreign scholars with self financing or ICCR sponsored or bilateral fellowships are also granted admission.
