Diploma in Nautical Science From ARI, New Delhi

• Pass in (10+2) or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as separate subjects with a PCM average of not less than 60%; or
• B.Sc. in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry or Electronics with Physics as individual subject in one of the year, with an average of not less than 50% of marks in the final year; or
• B.E/B.Tech. Degree from I.I.T. or from a college recognized by AICTE with an average of not less than 50% of marks in the final year.
• And The candidates should have obtained 50% marks in English language at 10th or 12th Std. or in the Degree course conducted by recognized Board or any University.

1. 12TH Appearing / 12TH Passed Candidates have to get sponsorship from a shipping company before joining as a deck cadet in the DNS (Diploma in Nautical Science , Leading to B.Sc Nautical Science Course). Sponsored candidates are those who get selected by shipping companies before the start of the course and their placement is assured on completion of the one-year pre-sea course at ARI.
2. These shipping companies conduct their separate entrance tests besides the IMU CET (Common Entrance Test) and have their own standards with regards to eligibility criteria.However passing the IMU CET Exam remains compulsory for sponsored candidates.
3. ARI conducts sponsorship tests on behalf of various reputed shipping companies who have been clients for many years. Sponsorship tests are held for two separate deck cadet batches that start in February and August every year. For the February batch the tests are generally held in the months of Sept / Oct while sponsorship tests for the August batch of deck cadets are held in the months of April / May.

• University Registration and Certificate Verification Fee: Rs. 35,000/- (Rupees Thirty Five Thousand Only) by demand draft in the name of "Indian Maritime University” payable at Chennai.

• CAUTION DEPOSIT: A caution deposit of Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) by demand draft or pay order in the name of "Capt. S.S.S. Rewari Foundation” payable at New Delhi. This deposit is refundable within One month of course completion after deductions for breakages, damages and fine if any.
