School of Distance Education (SDE) of MGU commenced its activities in 1990. SDE aims to provide cost-effective quality education to the largest section of the population including those living in remote areas.
Note: Students will not be allowed to take admission in two courses at a time either in this University or outside except for Diploma/Certificate courses in German, Russian etc.

MG University SDE offers B.A, B.Com and B.Sc programs in various specializations. Admissions are done on the basis of score in entrance exam or merit list prepared by the university.
Students who are permanent residents or domiciled in Kerala and who have passed the Pre-degree examination of MG University or any other examination recognized by this University are eligible to apply.

Candidates belonging to SC/ST are exempted from minimum marks restriction and OBC candidates are allowed a concession of 2% marks. Bona fide teachers employed in Govt./Aided Schools in the Kerala State shall be exempted from the minimum marks requirement on the production of an employment certificate from the AEO/DEO/Principals concerned. | |

Note 1: If a student has passed his/her 10+2 from National Institute Open Schooling (NIOS) or Other State boards then an additional fee of INR 175 is required to be paid along with the application fee.
Note 2: Candidates are advised to keep one copy of the duly filled application form for future reference.
SC/ST students are exempted from the payment of exam fee for maximum 3 times within the period of 4 years from the day of their first appearance for the respective examination. Rules for Reservation are discussed below.
