Tamralipta Mahavidyalaya, was established in 1948 and is affiliated to Vidyasagar University. The college offers BA (Honours & General), B.Com (Honours), B.Ed. and B.Sc. (Honours & General). Tamralipta Mahavidyalaya also offers postgraduate courses in MA in Bengali, History and Sanskrit and M.Sc. in Zoology.
All the courses are offered under the departments of Commerce, Bengalis, Education, English, Geography, History, Political Science, Philosophy, Sanskrit, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Science, Physics, Physiology and Zoology.

Tamralipta Mahavidyalaya UG Admission 2023
The college offers three year undergraduate program in BA, B.Sc., B.Com and B.Ed. respectively in various specializations.
Admission to all the UG courses are merit based. For calculating merit point, candidate’s score in best five subjects will be taken into consideration.
Candidates must have scored 50% marks in the subject for which they want to opt for Honours and 45% aggregate marks in 10+2 examinations.
Apart from regular UG courses, the institute also offers B.Ed. for which the annual intake is 100 students. Candidates who hold Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum 50% aggregate marks are eligible to apply.
Admissions will be merit based on candidate’s academic performance in the qualifying degree examination.

Key Points for UG Admission:
- Candidates must have studies the subject which is being opted in Honours course.
- For General courses, candidates must have passed 10+2 in at least five subjects.
- For Honours in History, Political Science and Philosophy, if candidate have not studied the subjects at 10+2 level, they are allowed to opt for the course.
- For Admission in Honours in Computer Science, if candidate has not studied the subject but have studied Mathematics at HS level is eligible to apply.
- Applicants who have not opted for Accountancy/ Economics in 10+2 but have studies Mathematics as one of the subjects are eligible to apply for the Honours course in the same.
- Candidate who opt for Honours course in Science subject with Geography and Economics, should follow the Choice Based Credit System.
Tamralipta Mahavidyalaya PG Admission 2023
Tamralipta Mahavidyalaya offers two-year MA program in three specializations and M.Sc. in one specialization.
Applicants must hold Bachelor’s degree in the concerned disciplines for admission in MA. For M.Sc., candidate must have obtained B.Sc. degree in the concerned discipline.
Admissions to all the PG courses are based on merit as well as entrance exam conducted by the college. 60% of the total seats are to be filled on the basis of merit who have done their Bachelor’s from Vidyasagar University. The rest 40% seats will be for the students other than those of the university.

Tamralipta Mahavidyalaya Application Process 2023
Applications for PG courses have to be submitted online. Application for UG courses will be submitted online. Candidates applying for more than one course, have to fill separate application form for each course. Any applicant who opts for Honours course, will not be allowed to apply for General course.

- Login to fill the application process.

Reservation Criteria
- The college follows the reservation criteria as per the norms if Government of India.
- As per the order of Government of West Bengal, 60% of total seats are reserved for students of Vidyasagar University.
- The rest 40% seats are reserved for open competition.
- The given 60% seats are filled by Merit Basis, whereas the rest 40% by Entrance Exam.
