The college offers BA (Hons.) in 10 specializations. Those who have passed 10+2/ HSC or its equivalent qualifying examination conducted by West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or any other equivalent State/ National Board are eligible to get admission to BA (Hons) program. Admission is given based on the merit of the candidate in the qualifying examination. The college releases the merit list of the shortlisted applicants on its website. Selected candidates have to submit their documents for verification and complete the admission formalities.

Key Points:

• Marks of top five subjects are taken into consideration while calculating the aggregate marks including English and excluding Environmental Studies.
• Applicants who have the gap of 2 years or more from the year of passing the qualifying examination are not allowed to get admission in the course.
• The intake capacity of BA (Arabic/ History/ Bengali/ Political Science/ Philosophy/ Sanskrit/ English) is 121, while of Sociology is 39, Geography is 37 and Economics are 15.
• Out of 121 seats in BA (Arabic/ History/ Bengali/ Political Science/ Philosophy/ Sanskrit/ English), 23 seats are reserved for SC, 6 for ST, 11 for OBC-A, 7 for OBC-B, 3 for PH and 71 for General category candidates.
• In BA Honors Geography course, 7 seats are reserved for SC, 2 for ST, 3 for OBC-A, 2 for OBC-B, 1 for PH and 22 for General category.
• In BA Honors Sociology, 7 seats are reserved for SC, 2 for ST, 4 for OBC-A, 2 for OBC-B, 1 for PH and 23 for General category.
• In BA Honors Economics course, 3 seats are reserved for SC, 1 for ST, 2 for OBC-A, 1 for OBC-B and 8 for General category candidates.

Samsi College offers BA, B.Sc and B.Com (General) courses with 6, 3 and 1 specializations respectively.

Applicants who have passed HSC/ 10+2 in any relevant discipline from West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or any State/ National Board of Examination are considered eligible to get admission into any UG (General) programs. Apply for UG Courses

Admission to the eligible candidates is given only based on their score obtained in HSC/ 10+2.

• Those who have passed 10+2/ HSC with English as a subject from West Bengal Council for Vocational Education and Training are also eligible to apply for admission to UG (General) course.
• The aggregate marks are calculated by adding the marks obtained in top 5 subjects including English and Excluding Environmental Studies and dividing the sum by 6.
• 5% and 10% merit points are deducted from the total merit points of the candidates who have passed 10+2 in 2015 and 2014 respectively.
