About
Salesian College is an educational institution run by the Salesians of Don Bosco, Kolkata, and affiliated to the North Bengal University (NBU). It was established initially in 1993 in Shillong and later moved to Darjeeling in 1938. The second Siliguri campus of the college was established in 2009. It has been named as a “College with Potential for Excellence” by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The college offers numerous UG courses, professional courses, and a PG course. Admission to all courses is based on merit in the qualifying examination.

Scholarships are awarded to meritorious students from low-income backgrounds to support and sustain their education.
- Scholarship money is collected from well-wishers, alumni, parents of students or collected as the Alumni Scholarship Fund.
- For the selection of the deserving student(s) for the scholarship, a committee consisting of both student and faculty representatives are formed.
- Selection criteria are based on the annual family income of the student, attendance (minimum 80%) and academics (minimum 50% in selection tests/college exams).
