Braj Mohan Das College, abbreviated as BMD College is a unit of B.R.A.Bihar University, Muzaffarpur. The idea of the College originated in the minds of some freedom fighters and social activists of the region. The College came into existence in 1968 and is situated at Dayalpur in Vaishali district of Bihar. The college has a good infrastructure to attract the students and not only the infrastructure is good but the college also provides a quality education to the students admitted. Various courses are available for different levels. Apart from this, the college also offers other value oriented courses to add benefit to the students.
Facilities like fully developed Library, labs are provided and other facilities are being added time to time to meet the global needs. The college caters the students so as to make them as a asset for the society and which could serve the nation.
The College is situated in a peaceful and serene environment of a village and has area of about five acres full of greeneries and life. There is also a double-storied Men’s Hostel and Women’s Hostel, a common-room facilitating indoor-games for the students a bicycle-stand, a small canteen and an adequate sports-ground.
Many seminars and conferences are conducted in the college. In 2005, an UGC funded seminar, on the topic ‘Aromatic plants and their use’ was organised by the Deptt. of Botany .
When the matter comes with the sports and games, then also the college comes to the front and regularly participates in the events organised at the University level. For the few last years the College volley-ball team have won the Championship Shield / Runner-up Shield several times.
