PD Women’s College, also known as Prasannadeb Women‘s College is located in Jalpaiguri town, West Bengal. It was established in the year 1950. The college is affiliated to the University of North Bengal.
The College offers BA & B.Sc. courses (General and Honors) to eligible girl candidates from the state of West Bengal.
- Admission to PD Women’s College is done on the basis of merit of the qualifying examination.
- For SC/ST candidates, the minimum marks for eligibility shall be either 50% marks in the aggregate or 45% in the aggregate with 60% in the subject concerned.
- Students of Higher Secondary (Vocational) Course (10 + 2 level) are eligible to apply only for the 1st year General course of B.A. and B.Sc.
- Merit list for Honors courses is calculated as Credit = (2S + T) / 6, where ‘S’ is marks obtained in the honors subject and ‘T’ is the aggregate marks of honors subject, English, and other two best subjects.
- The merit list for General courses is determined on the basis of aggregate marks obtained in the best of four subjects, including English and excluding environmental science.
- Candidates are free to make any correction to their applications up to the last date of form submission.
- However, candidate’s name, father's name, date of birth and choice of hostel accommodation will be locked at least till payment.
- Candidates taking additional subjects like Computer Sc., PE, TTM, and Computer Application must pay additional fee of INR 1200, INR 1600, INR 1800 and INR 1200 respectively.
- Reservation is provided as per the guidelines stipulated by the University of North Bengal.

PD Women’s College offers undergraduate level, Honors and General degree programs in the fields of arts and sciences.
The college offers four additional General subjects to BA and B.Sc. candidates – Physical Education, Elective English, Elective Bengali and Computer Science.
The basic eligibility criteria for admission to the Honors courses is a pass in H.S. with minimum 55 percentile aggregate marks. Candidates with 50% aggregate marks and 60 percentile marks in the Honors subject are also eligible for admission. Apply for UG Courses

Key Points to remember for UG Admission:
- Applicants for B.A. Honors in Economics, must have passed in Mathematics/ Business Economics including Business Mathematics in the H.S. level exam.
- Applicants for Chemistry (Honors) and Physics (Honors) at B.Sc. level, must have passed in Mathematics in H.S. or its equivalent examination.
- Applicants for Chemistry (General), Physics (General) and Computer Science (General) at B.Sc. level, must have passed in Mathematics in H.S. or its equivalent examination.
- 8Along with BA/ B.Sc., a student may take up a Certificate (in 1st Year)/ Diploma (in 2nd year) /Advanced Diploma (in 3rd year) course in Travel & Tourism Management (TTM) or Computer Applications as an add-on career oriented course.
PD Women’s College Application Process 2023
PD Women’s College accepts applications from eligible candidates for admission to its various courses only though online mode. The detailed application process is as follows:
- Visit the official website of the college and register.
- A valid email id that belongs to the candidate must be used for this purpose.
- Alternatively, the candidate can directly log on to official website of college for admission for the purpose of creating user account.
- Next step is to fill the online application form, which is made available within the prescribed dates.
- After filling up the online application form, pay the non-refundable application fee.
- The candidate can pay the application fee by Offline or Online Mode.
- In Offline mode, candidate can pay the fees by visiting the Axis Bank.
- In Online mode, candidate can pay through Net Banking/ Credit or Debit Card.
