Malda College Admission 2024: UG, PG, Courses, Eligibility, Application Form, Last Date

Admission in the UG courses at Malda College is done on the basis of marks obtained in 10+2 level exam. Application process for these courses start generally in May every year and the list of shortlisted candidates are announced by June.

For B.A., applicants can choose between General and Honours courses from an option of 11 different specializations. For B.Sc., applicants can choose Honours or General courses from seven different specializations.

Students opting for B.Com. Honours can choose Accounting as the major subject. There is also a self financed section of the college which offers BCA course that is also a conventional 3 years bachelor's’ degree programme. Apply for UG Courses

Key Points:

• Candidates with less than 45% in aggregate or 40% aggregate and 50% in English can not apply for honours courses
• 5% relaxation in the eligibility criteria is offered to SC/ST applicants
• Candidates from the year 2015 and 2016 can also apply. However, 10% and 5% respective aggregate marks will be deducted while considering such applications

Malda College UG Application Process

• Candidates who desire to get admission in Malda College has to apply online at the college’s official website
• After filling up the form, the candidate is required to download a challan for depositing the application fee offline
• Once the application date is closed, a merit list will be put up for the candidates who have been shortlisted for verification and counselling

In Post Graduation courses, Malda College offers Master’s degree programme in English, History and Bengali. Candidates who have passes from a recognised board or University with 10+2+3 system or equivalent are eligible for application. A total of 195 seats are available.

Application can be done through both online as well as offline platforms. The process of application starts in July every year and admission is done by September. Admission process is as below:

• 60% of the seats in each of the three subjects are reserved for students from the colleges affiliated to the Gourbanga University. Admission in this quota is done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying exam
• The admission for the remaining 40% of the seats are done on the basis of Open Admission Test.

Key Points

• Applicants who have passed their Honours graduation between 2013 to 2015 can also apply. However, 5% per year will be deducted per year from their aggregate marks for eligibility
• 22% of the seats are reserved for SC category, 6% for ST, 3% for Category A and B of OBC and 3% for physically handicapped/challenged candidates
