IME IIT Kanpur Admission 2023: Course, Fees, Eligibility, Selection, Dates, Registration

Admission is to the MBA course is done on the basis of the CAT score (85% percentile and above for general category students and 75% percentile for SC and ST applicants) followed by a Group Discussion and personal interview round.

Candidate must hold an undergraduate degree from any recognized university (with Mathematics as one of the compulsory programs either in degree or in class XII) with minimum aggregate marks of 65% in Class X, XII and qualifying degree (55% for SC/ST applicants).

IME IIT Kanpur Selection Criteria

Candidates are shortlisted for the GD-PI round based on their CAT scores along with Class 10, Class 12 scores, qualifying degree marks and work experience.

Eligible candidates are shortlisted for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview round on the basis of their marks in the qualifying degree, CAT score and prior work experience (if any). Shortlisted candidates are then intimated for the GD-PI round.

• Separate merit lists are prepared for candidates belonging to different categories.
• Candidates appearing for the final degree examination can also apply.
• Candidates belonging to the SC/ST category need an overall CAT percentile of 75 with minimum aggregate marks of 55% in Class X, XII and qualifying degree
• Admission process generally begins in the month of January every year.

Candidates applying for the 2-year M.Tech program must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or master’s degree in science with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks. Candidates belonging to the SC/ST castes are eligible to apply with the qualifying degree irrespective of the aggregate marks.

• Admission to the program is done on the basis of a valid GATE score.
• Candidates are shortlisted for the next round based on their GATE scores and qualifying degree marks.
• Shortlisted candidates are then called for the Written Test and Personal Interview.
• Finally, a separate merit list for each category (General and SC/ST) is prepared based on the Interview and GATE marks.

Admission process generally opens in the month of March. Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories can apply to the program with a qualifying degree and a 300 score in GATE.

• Written test and personal interview for shortlisted candidates is conducted on the campus.
• Separate merit lists are prepared for candidates belonging to different categories.

Candidates applying for the Ph.D. program should have a master’s degree in Management/Industrial engineering with a minimum of 55% marks or a bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum of 75% marks and a valid GATE score.

Applicants with a master’s degree in science/arts/commerce/CA with a minimum of 65% aggregate marks and a 95 percentile and above in GATE can also apply.

• Applicants are shortlisted based on their academic and prior work experience, if any.
• Shortlisted candidates are then called for the Written Test and Personal Interview round, done at the campus.
• Finally, a separate merit list for each category (General and SC/ST) is prepared based on the Written Test and Personal Interview round.

Admissions open twice a year, in June and December. Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes who have passed the basic qualifying degree as stated above are eligible to apply irrespective of the marks/CPI and will be considered for admission.
