Forest Research Institute (FRI) Dehradun was established in 1878. It offers M.Sc. and Ph.D. courses in different specializations. The application form can be filled online or offline on payment of application fee through cash or DD. FRI Dehradun offers reservation to the candidates belonging to SC/ST/ PWD and OBC-NCL categories.
FRI Dehradun conducts its own Entrance Test to offer admission in the M.Sc course. Final admission is granted on the basis of institute-based counselling. PhD admission is based on candidates’ performance in Written Test conducted by FRI followed by an Interview round. Candidates have to score at least 50% (45% for SC/ST/ PWD/ OBC-NCL) marks in the entrance test to become eligible for further admission rounds.
GATE/ CSIR NET/ UGC NET qualified candidates are also eligible to apply for PhD. Such candidates are exempted from Institute-based Written Test but liable for the Interview round. FRI Ph.D. Admission Criteria: The entrance exam will be of 200 marks for the duration of three hours. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview where they will be required to propose their area of interest. The test will consist of 50% marks each from Research Methodology and Subject-Specific Knowledge.
