Loreto College, Kolkata was established in 1912. Loreto College offers admission to various UG programme, B.Ed along with Post Graduation in English. Higher Secondary Examination qualified candidates will be eligible for admission to the UG course. Applicants holding a Bachelors's degree in any subject will be eligible for admission to B.Ed and Bachelors degree holders in English will be eligible for admission to Post Graduation in English.

Loreto College offers admission to various UG courses.The minimum eligibility criteria is a 10+2 pass with a minimum 50% along with English as one of the core subjects. Candidates applying for any of the Honors courses are eligible, provided they must have studied a related subject at 10+2 level.

ENTRANCE PREVIEW: This college makes a student a complete person. They train you and get you ready for the outside world rather than just teaching bookish knowledge. Loreto College offers admission to M.A (English) to the candidates with Honors Degree in English with 50% marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognized university. 60% of the total available seats will be filled on the basis of merit while 40% of seats will get filled through combined marks in university examination and admission test. 

• 60% i.e.15 of the total number of seats is reserved exclusively for current year students of Calcutta University (CU) and CU affiliated autonomous colleges. 
• 40% i.e. 10 of the total number of seats is reserved for the following:
  • Non-CU candidates of the current year and immediately preceding year. 
  • CU candidates of immediately preceding year.

Course Curriculum Review

"The course curriculum follows the standard West Bengal board and comprises the same model of assessments and syllabus. The weightage of the 3yr course maintains full compatibility with any standard graduation. The 3yr curriculum was spread across Part 1 and Part 2"

Fees Review

"The fee structure was extremely feasible in the sense the payment cycle and structure both did not seem to have burnt holes in my parent's pockets. They asked reasonable fees and it was a one time every year at the beginning only. There was a one time down payment and it was a comfortable option"

B.Ed. program is offered in affiliation with Calcutta University and is recognized by NCET. Candidates with 3 years' B.A degree or 2 years M.A degree are eligible to apply for the B.Ed program. This program is offered in three subjects along with any one Indian or another language. The upper age limit is 40 years as on the month of June of the year of application.
